Haryana Minister Anil Vij sings ‘Laga Chunari Mein Daag’ as he taunts Congress over ‘black’ protest march
In another jibe to Congress for its ‘black’ protest march on Friday, BJP leader and Haryana minister Anil Vij sang a famous old song as he criticized the party for adapting various methods to organize demonstrations.
In a video shared by ANI news agency, Anil Vij sang the song “Laga Chunari Mein Daag” and said the party protested wearing black clothes to pressure the Enforcement Directorate under the name demands of the people.
He also alleged that Rahul Gandhi is trying to form such a democracy in India where if one receives a notice from ED, by staging protests against the polling agency, the notice will be withdrawn.
Meanwhile, Delhi police have registered an FIR against Congress party workers for allegedly hampering and injuring police officers during their protest march in the nation’s capital.
“We have registered an FIR under Sections 186 (Obstruction of a public official in the performance of public duties), 188 (Disobedience of an order duly issued by a public official), 332 (willful injury to deter a public official from his duty), 34 (common intention),” a senior Delhi police official told IANS.
The Congress party on Friday staged a nationwide protest against central government policy that has allegedly led to rising unemployment and inflation in the country.
As many as 65 Congress lawmakers including Rahul Gandhi were detained at Vijay Chowk near the Houses of Parliament while a total of 335 protesters were detained under Section 65 of the Delhi Police Act in order to maintain public order in the region.
Special Commissioner of Police, L&O Division, Dr. Sagar Preet Hooda informed that the Congress party protested at various sites in New Delhi including Akbar Road, Vijay Chowk and Jantar Mantar.
He said the protesters had been properly warned of the restraining orders in place in the area and had repeatedly asked to disperse, but continued to protest, violating the restraining orders under of article 144 of the Penal Code.
