HEART’s NANCY WILSON Releases TAYLOR HAWKINS Tribute Song “Amigo Amiga”

HEARTit is Nancy Wilson has published “Amigo Amiga”his tribute at the end FOO FIGHTERS drummer Taylor Hawkins. All proceeds from the song will go to the non-profit organization MusiCares.

Wilson told Consqueuence that she had started writing the night of Hawkinsis happening in March, with the title of the song being a combination of the nicknames the two have given each other.

“I heard myself in tears say ‘too soon, too soon’, which became a refrain in the song”, Wilson said. “I had quite a few sleepless nights trying to express it all. He was a wonderful friend and we always had funny nicknames for each other like ‘Amigo’ and ‘Amiga’ as well as ‘Luv’ and ‘Dahling’.”

Re taylorit’s death, Wilson said: “It’s such a painful loss – but I also feel taylor galvanized and re-energized rock ‘n’ roll with so many of his fellow musicians and fans united. It’s a new rebirth taylor and the OOO the family has gifted us all.”

Hawkins was found dead at the Four Seasons Casa Medina hotel in Bogota.

taylor joined FOO FIGHTERS in 1997. Before that, he played with the band Orange County SYLVIA and was also in the backing band for Airlock Jordan. He also toured with Alanis Morissette as his drummer.

Hawkins was inducted into Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last year as a member of the FOO FIGHTERS.

Nancythe first solo album of, “You and me”was released in May 2021 via keep the music going. The LP included the song “Party at the Ballroom of Angels” which featured a superstar backing band, including Duff McKagan of GUNS N’ ROSES and Hawkins.

She had already released another album with just her name on it, “Live at McCabe’s Guitar Shop”which captured her playing a series of covers and new songs in 1999. But Nancy considered “You and me” his first real solo album.
