Patrick Droney brings the heat to a sold-out show in Boston – // MELODIC Magazine
The still so talented Patrick Droney traveled to Boston on his Heart State Tour and it did not disappoint. The tour is named after her critically acclaimed debut album heart condition in which he co-wrote and co-produced and includes hit songs like “Yours in the morning” , “When the Lights Go Out”and “Shine”. It doesn’t stop there as he released a deluxe version of the album with five more songs including a re-imagined version of ZZ Top. “Rough Boy (feat. Billy Gibbons)” and a heartfelt love letter in “Like Water”. State of the heart is truly one of Patrick’s finest works to date and fans were truly thrilled with the show.
Patrick walked out to the roar of a sold-out Sinclair crowd around 9 p.m., guitar in hand ready to rock. He opened the night playing “Thread” much to the delight of the crowds. He would play a handful of songs from his debut album heart condition as well as a few songs from his 2019 self-titled EP. Along with playing a good category of his own tracks, Patrick also treated fans to a few covers. the Rough Boy ZZ Top the cover was one that featured plenty of killer guitar solos from Patrick who can absolutely shred on guitar. Patrick also fits in an excerpt from the iconic Prince’s “purple rain” during his song “There where you are”, which is to check the weather app on your phone wherever you are. Along with the great covers that Patrick performed, he also brought out the incredible Morgxn (who opened the show earlier) to sing “River” together. Patrick proclaimed how much he admires Morgxn and they both shared a hug together, it was a sweet moment. Patrick kept dancing the rest of the night and the crowd loved every minute of it.
