Two months ago, Eric Clapton lamented that his friends ghosted him because of his anti-vaccination and anti-containment rhetoric. We begged for famous names, and now … we kind of have one? Queen guitarist and model Brian May said The independent in a new interview that despite being at a crossroads his entire life, his admiration for Clapton has waned a bit due to his comments adjacent to COVID. “I love Eric Clapton, he’s my hero, but he has very different views from me in so many ways. He’s a person who thinks it’s okay to shoot animals for fun, so we have our disagreements, but I would never stop respecting humans, ”he explained. “The anti-vaccines, I’m sorry, I think they’re fruit cakes. There is a lot of evidence to show that vaccination helps. Overall they have been very safe. There will always be side effects in any medicine you take, but to say that the vaccines are a plot to kill you, I’m sorry, that goes in the jar of fruit cake for me. Clapton, the Earl of Fruitcakes, issued an executive order in July stating that he refuse to play shows where proof of vaccination is required. No word on whether cocaine receives the same treatment.
