The Amish Outlaws – The Sandpaper

On tap

RESIDENCE : East Coast (Vermont to Virginia) …and convenience stores like Wawa or Sheetz, five to 15 times a week.

STYLE: Covers of “all the songs that other bands are too embarrassed to play”. Genre- and era-spanning sets include a handful of typical covers and plenty of weird ducks like System of a Down, Snoop Dogg, Johnny Cash, ZZ Top, Madonna, Black Sabbath, Ludacris, David Bowie, Bee Gees and Prince.

LINE UP: Brother Big Daddy Abel, lead vocals; Brother Hezekiah X, lead vocals; Brother Amos Def, keyboard/vocals; Brother Eazy Ezekiel, bass; Brother Snoop Job, guitar/vocals; Brother Jakob the bagpiper, drums.

FUN FACT: The Outlaws once opened for 3 Doors Down, and 3DD left their vegan mayonnaise in the locker room. Eazy Ezekiel used it on a sandwich. It was surprisingly good, he reported.

THEY SAY: The group identifies itself as “Amish/sweaty” and is considered, by some, the fourth best Amish cover band in the world.

TWO TAKE: What’s it called when these guys split the bill at the restaurant? Pennsylvania Dutch.

CHECK: and their social media pages.

BE THE JUDGE: Sunday, July 3, 10 p.m. at Bird & Betty’s, Beach Haven. —JH
